People who make their living trying to discredit God and the Bible have already taken their best shots at ELS and missed the mark. Scientists, mathematicians, liberal theologians, agnostics, skeptics, atheists -- no one has been able to shoot down the ELS research.

PUBLIC STATEMENT BY HAROLD GANS

1. The book states that codes were found in the book of Genesis by Doron Witztum and Eliyahu Rips. An experiment was performed using scientific protocols specified by independent reviewers. The results of the experiment provided extremely strong statistical evidence for the existence of the encoding of great Jewish sages' names and dates of birth and death in the Hebrew text of the book of Genesis. This is all true.

2. The book states that I undertook an independent evaluation of the Witztum - Rips experiment. I duplicated their experiment and provided corroboration of their results. This is correct.

3. The book states that I also performed a new experiment, using the same methodology of Witztum and Rips, in which I found that the sages' names were also encoded in Genesis with their respective cities of birth and death. The statistical results obtained were even stronger than that obtained for the first experiment. This is all true.

4. The book also indicates that in spite of concerted efforts by many, no fatal mathematical flaw has been uncovered in the Witztum - Rips experiment. This too, is correct.

5. The book states that the codes in the Torah can be used to predict future events. This is absolutely unfounded. There is no scientific or mathematical basis for such a statement, and the reasoning used to come to such a conclusion in the book is logically flawed. While it is true that some historical events have been shown to be encoded in the Book of Genesis in certain configurations, it is absolutely not true that every similar configuration of "encoded" words necessarily represents a potential historical event. In fact, quite the opposite is true: most such configurations will be quite random and are expected to occur in any text of sufficient length. Mr. Drosnin states that his "prediction" of the assassination of Prime Minister Rabin is "proof" that the "Bible Code" can be used to predict the future. A single success, regardless of how spectacular, or even several such "successful" predictions proves absolutely nothing unless the predictions are made and evaluated under carefully controlled conditions. Any respectable scientist knows that "anecdotal" evidence never proves anything.

6. A plethora of books have appeared over the last several months, concerning the codes. Unless the work is reviewed by qualified scientists or mathematicians, the reader accepts such a book at his own risk.

7. After exhaustive analysis, I have reached the conclusion that the only information that can be derived from the codes discovered in Genesis is that they exist, and the probability that they are mere coincidence is vanishingly small.

"Twin Towers" was encoded in the 3000-year-old text. "Airplane" appeared in exactly the same place. Also "It knocked Down" and "Twice" was encoded. (Bible Code II By Drosnin - pg.2-3)

Encode "Sin, crime of Bin Laden" - "The City and the tower" - "They saw smoke rising above the land like the smoke of a furnace". The leader of the hijackers, the pilot of the first plane that hit the towers, Mohammed Atta, was also identified. "Terrorist Atta" - "Egyptian man". (Bible Code II By Drosnin - pg.6-7)

Drosnin finds encoded that the Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin will be assassinate. He gives warning to the Prime Minister on September 1, 1994. A year later on November 4, 1995 it comes true. "Yitzhak Rabin" - "Assassin that will assassinate". (Bible Code II By Drosnin - pg.14-15)

The world will face global "Economic collapse" starting in the Hebrew year 5762. In the modern calendar the year is 2002. Encoded: "Economic Crisis" - "From 5762/2002" - "5690/1929" - "The Depressions" - "Stocks" (Bible Code II By Drosnin - pg.20, 223-224)

In the Hebrew, the original language of the Bible, "Sapphire" in reverse spells "Rips." Eliyahu Rips, the mathematician who discovered the Bible code, appeared by name in the Bible that was encoded three thousand years ago. (Bible Code II By Drosnin - pg.26)

Eli Rips had come to Israel from Russia in 1970, when he was set free from a Soviet political prison after a worldwide protest led by the president of the American Mathematical Society. Encoded: "Rips" - "Russian/he will compute" - "Prophecy". Also encoded: "Decoder" - "Rips" - "Prophesied" - "Code". (Bible Code II By Drosnin - pg.28)

In August 1998, as Bill Clinton confessed on national television, I looked for impeachment, said Drosnin. I found: "Clinton" - "Impeachment" - "Nation against impeachment" - "Hidden secret, lover of maidservant" (Bible Code II By Drosnin - pg.55-56)

On April 13, 2001 Drosnin said; I showed Arafat the Bible code table where his name appeared with no set date. "Yasir Arafat" - "Assassin will assassinate" - "Shooters of Yasir Arafat" - "The Ambusher will kill him" - "Terrorist/Hamas". (Bible Code II By Drosnin - pg.100-103)

I told the Prime minister's son, Omri Sharon about his father's name in the code. The same code table I had shown Arafat, where both statements of the "End of Days" appeared together, and "Arafat" and "Bush" appeared with "Sharon." (Bible Code II By Drosnin - pg.130)

To me it was as if, in a very Biblical sense, bin Laden was the chosen instrument of our destruction in the modern world, just as other enemies were a chosen instrument of God's wrath in Biblical times. Encoded: "Judgment of God" - "Bin Laden" - "Cursed be bin Laden" - "To the Messiah belongs vengeance" (Bible Code II By Drosnin - pg.192)

"Captured" was in fact encoded parallel to "bin Laden," suggesting that eventually he would be found. "From headquarters to headquarters" - City of refuge" - "Murderer" (Bible Code II By Drosnin - pg.194)

The Bible code there appeared to be some hope. "C. Powell" was encoded with "chief of the summit," suggesting that the Secretary of State might yet bring the two sides together. (Bible Code II By Drosnin - pg.198)

The Bible code seemed to warn that the war on terrorism Bush had declared, the war that had already been waged in Afghanistan, but now seemed to falter, with bin Laden still on the loose, might come to a terrible end. "War of Bush" was encoded in the Bible with the ultimate warning- "The evil that will befall you in the End of Days." The words in the plain text crossing "War of Bush" made clear that the danger was global: "The nations under all of Heaven." (Bible Code II By Drosnin - pg.199)

"The next terror attack" was encoded with "bin Laden," and the only city in the world that was also encoded with both "atomic holocaust" and "World War" - "Jerusalem." Encoded also: "Terrorism" - "Suicide Bomber" (Bible Code II By Drosnin - pg.200-201)

The chief scientist at the Ministry of Defense in Israel, General Isaac Ben-Israel, had already briefed Kuperwasser about the new warnings in the Bible code. Now I showed him the code tables. "Smallpox' is encoded with '2005," I told the general. He looked at the code table where the year appeared, and saw that the plain text of the Bible crossing "smallpox" said, "The dead in the plague were 14,700." (Bible Code II By Drosnin - pg.167)

Plague is the one danger most clearly encoded with the end of days. When the Prime Minister of Israel asked his security advisors the greatest danger Israel faced, they said smallpox. One suicide carrier boarding an airplane in Karachi or Kabul could fly to New York or Tel Aviv and begin a plague that could kill one-third of the world's population. The Final Bible Code

1. It gave one example, a computer model of what would happen if a 1-kiloton nuclear device was exploded in Times Square. Not a 500-kiloton war-head, but a nuclear land mine that could be carried on the back of one man.

   One man with a weapon in a backpack could destroy the center of any city. If it happened in New York, this would be the horror:

   Twenty thousand people would die in a matter of seconds. For more than a quarter mile beyond ground zero, anyone exposed to the fireball would die a gruesome death within a day. A quarter million people live in that radius. A mushroom cloud would go up more than two miles into the air, and then lethal fallout would begin drifting back to earth, spreading up to ten miles.

2. If instead a 1-megaton bomb were dropped on New York, it would flatten every building in Manhattan. According to Jonathan Schell, in his definitive book The Fate of the Earth: "The physical collapse of the city would certainly kill millions of people. At a distance of 2 miles from ground zero, winds would reach 400 miles an hour: The fireball would grow until it was more than a mile wide, and rocket upward, to a height of over six miles. For ten seconds, it would broil the city below. Soon, huge thick clouds of dust and smoke would envelop the scene, and as the mushroom cloud rushed overhead (it would have a diameter of about 12 miles), the light of the sun would be blotted out and day would turn into night."
3. It is considered more likely that if New York were struck, it would be with a 20-megaton bomb: "The fireball would be about four and half miles in diameter. People caught in the open twenty-three miles away from ground zero would be burned to death. New York City and its suburbs would be transformed into a flattened scorched desert in a few seconds."

   But most likely, nuclear terrorists would set off a bomb on the ground. Again, from Jonathan Schell: "If a 20-megaton bomb were ground-burst the fireball would be almost six miles in diameter, and everyone within it would be instantly killed, with most of them physically disappearing. New York City and its population, now radioactive dust, would rise into a mushroom cloud." (Bible Code II By Drosnin - pg.233-235)

World War is also encoded with the year. The number 5766 is in the Hebrew calendar, in the modern calendar the year is 2006: "World War" - "In 5766/2006" (Bible Code II By Drosnin - pg.236)

Dr. Eli Rips offers hope and open the book of Deuteronomy, where Moses spoke his last words before his death, and laid out two choices, the path of evil or the path of righteousness. "The Bible Code is not a prediction," said Rips, "but a warning of what can happen, according to what we do."

Final Comment

We are approaching dangers times according to God's word.
II Peter 3:3
3: Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts,
4: And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.
5: For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old, and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:
6: Whereby the world that then was, being overflowed with water, perished:
7: But the heavens and the earth, which are now, by the same word are kept in store, reserved unto fire against the day of judgment and perdition of ungodly men.

God is righteous and a loving God, but at the same time He's a God of wrath of the children of disobedience. 9/11 was a sad time for America and the world. God's judgement is swift and sure, and reading the Bible Code confirms it.

I don't agree with some of the finds or some of the comments, that Drosnin made, but that doesn't mean that rest of the finds are not true. He said there might be alien coded writing, and Israel might be destroyed.

About the ancient writing of an alien code. God says:
John 1:1
1: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2: The same was in the beginning with God.
3: All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

About Israel being destroyed, my Bible tells me Israel is the the apple of God's eye and they are His chosen people.
Zechariah 2:8: For thus saith the LORD of hosts; After the glory hath he sent me unto the nations which spoiled you: for he that toucheth you toucheth the apple of his eye.

They will not be destroyed according to His word. About the nation of Israel, they don't believe that the Messiah has come yet. God's promise is still true to this day about His people.
Gen 12:3: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

One day His people will be glorious saved in the seven years of tribulation in the "End of Days". The Lord will send two witnesses down from heaven, and they will proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ and their eyes will be open.
Revelation 11:3: And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

Drosnin said in his book: I am not religious. I don't believe in God, but I believe that the Bible Code is real! Hmmm..., very interesting. Can God used Drosnin for His purpose with out knowing His Son Jesus. The answer is yes, and He will for His purpose. God is sovereign, and can do anything or use anybody. Example in...
Joshua 6:17: And the city shall be accursed, even it, and all that are therein, to the LORD: only Rahab the harlot shall live, she and all that are with her in the house, because she hid the messengers that we sent.

Everybody has a purpose in life and mine is to share the gospel of Christ. Yes there's Good News thru all the dark clouds. There's a light shining thru the darkness you may be in, and that light is my Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. Jesus said you don't have to go thru the seven years of tribulation thats upon us. For He said in His word:
John 14:6: I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

If I was to ask you, do you know Jesus Christ as your personal saviour, do you know if you was to die today, that you would be with the Lord in heaven. If you can't answer that, and do not know for sure, I have Good News. The Bible says you can"KNOW" you have eternal life.
I John 5:13: These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may "KNOW" that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

The Gift of God

The Lord spoke to me in my heart to warn the people of their sins, for His judgement is sure. For The Lord said unto me....
